I am trying to enter the character sequence 'aiyanna' using the Windows 7 Sinhala keyboard/IME. This sequence consists of 'kombuwa' followed by 'eyanna'. The input method for Sinhala requires that the key to generate 'kombuwa' follow the key to generate the character which it precedes orthographically. This method works for other character sequences, but does not work for the sequence required to generate 'aiyanna'. Is there some other way to generate this sequence? The sequence I'm trying to generate is the one in this screenshot: Thanks. I was able to solve the problem, thanks to help from a Dell tech support person. Sinhala Unicode Keyboard PdfHe provided a link to a download of the Unicode encoding for Sinhala. It turns out that the sequence I wanted, 'aiyanna,' is implemented as a separate character, 0D93. Although apparently not directly accessible from the Windows Sinhala keyboard, I was able to copy it from a Sinhala Unicode font using the Windows Character Map utility and paste it into my file name. It produces the desirable result, but for some reason the spacing between it and the preceding word is exaggerated (lengthened) and the only way I could find to produce the visually desirable result was to omit the space between the two words. Although the space is no longer present, visually there appears to be the correct amount of space between the two words. A couple of additional notes: -I tried to insert the code using the ALT + code_number feature, but was unsuccessful using this method. I tried ALT+0D93 but all it inserted was a right square bracket, even though I was entering text with the Sinhala keyboard. Sinhala Unicode Keyboard Layout-It appears that the Windows 7 implementation of the Sinhala keyboard differs from the standard Sinhala computer keyboard layout in at least one respect. In the standard keyboard, the character 'eyanna' is generated by pressing the lowercase 't'. However, in my research I found that pressing lowercase 't' consistently produced the long variant 'diirgha eyanna.'
